Food and Fun for St. Patrick's Day

Thu, 03/11/2021 - 12:28

The annual St. Patrick's Day parade in Montauk may have been canceled, but you can still get a taste of the holiday this weekend. The Montauk Friends of Erin's annual corned beef and cabbage feast will be a takeout lunch and dinner on Saturday from noon until closing at Shagwong Tavern. The cost for the meal is $15 and includes all the trimmings. Orders can be placed by calling 631-668-3050.

An online trivia contest and other interactive games start Friday night at 7:30 at Sag Harbor's John Jermain Memorial Library, while on Saturday, Rob Scott, a chef, will lead a two-hour cooking class at 3 p.m. on the library's Facebook page. The recipes will include Irish soda bread muffins, corned beef and cabbage prepared in a slow cooker, mint chocolate-chip brownies, and, in honor of St. Patrick's Day, a peppermint ice cream shake.
