Discounts for Veterans, Active Service Members at Southampton Businesses

Tue, 11/09/2021 - 08:48

Southampton Town is saying "thank you" to veterans and active military service members by launching a program in which local businesses are offering them discounts and other perks.

According to a town release issued Monday, about 400 veterans and active service men and women have already received the discount cards, which are accepted by at least 20 businesses.

"We have gotten a very positive response from both the businesses and our military members," Southampton Town Councilwoman Julie Lofstad said in a statement. The town is "grateful to our military members, past and present, for their sacrifices, and this is one way we can all say thank you."

Current military members and honorably discharged veterans who live in Southampton Town can request discount cards by mail or in person at Town Hall or the Hampton Bays satellite office. Proof of military service must be shown.

Businesses that would like to take part can contact Jamie Bowden, the town's community organization specialist, at 631-702-2423. Additional information can be found online at southamptontownny.gov/discountcard.
