East Hampton Library Is Zooming Along

Fri, 12/11/2020 - 11:52
The library's website is easthamptonlibrary.org.

Writers interested in publishing their own books, either as hard copies or e-books, have been invited to join a Zoom talk on Saturday at 3 p.m., hosted by the East Hampton Library. David Fiske, a retired librarian and writer, will talk about the process, offering tips and caveats.

Dana Dragone will lead a New Moon circle and discuss new lunar cycles at noon Monday, via Zoom. New moons represent beginnings, she has said, and can be a time for self-healing and "manifestation."

Timely, yes! Ms. Dragone returns to Zoom at 2 p.m. on Tuesday to talk about preventing weight gain during the winter holidays.
Winter outdoor garden seed sowing will be the topic of a presentation, also Tuesday, this at 6 p.m., led by a staff member of the Cornell Cooperative Extension. The extension noted that outdoor sowing techniques are easier than on a windowsill or with artificial lighting in the basement. This program will also be on Zoom.

Evan Weiner, a sports-business writer, podcast host, and talk show pundit, will describe the development and early years of television on Friday, Dec. 18, at 6 p.m. on Zoom.

The Saturday morning book group has selected Nina Allan's "The Dollmaker" for its Dec. 19 meeting. The novel is set amid the old towns of England, in which the character of the title plans a rescue of a woman held in an institution since childhood.

A food drive for nonperishable items is underway. A bin has been placed near the stairway to the young adult section.
