A Virtual Caregivers' Retreat on Friday

Tue, 11/17/2020 - 15:30

In honor of National Family Caregivers Month this November, Peconic Bay Medical Center’s sixth annual Caregivers Retreat day will be held virtually, over Facebook Live, on Friday.

Anyone can register at facebook.com/PeconicBayMedicalCenter/events for the retreat, which is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A recording of the event, held with the Alzheimer’s Association, will also be made available on the Peconic Bay Medical Center Facebook page for those unable to attend on the day.

On the agenda will be a panel discussion and open question-and-answer forum with various caregiver professionals. Areas of expertise include elder law, palliative medicine, home care, infection prevention, and more.

Attendees can also participate in a stress management workshop led by Dana Bordsen, an art and urban zen integrative therapist from the Saint James Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in St. James, who will explore alternative practices in stress management for family caregivers.

Those with additional questions may call 631-548-6259 or email [email protected].
