The East Hampton Town Board has hired Harris Miller Miller and Hanson, an environmental and transportation consultant, to review operations at East Hampton Airport and aircraft noise complaints from July 27 through Sept. 30 of this year.

The firm will compare the data to the same period in the previous five years. Because the airport has been especially busy this year due to an increase in population during the pandemic, the board also plans to ask for an additional study covering more of the fall. "To this day, we're getting complaints, . . .  up to 200 a day," said Councilwoman Sylvia Overby at a board meeting last Thursday.

The cost of the initial 2020 study is not to exceed $40,715.
