Perry Burns, whose painting “Topology #1” is above, will be up next in the Artists and Writers series at Almond restaurant in Bridgehampton.

Artists and Writers Series

The Artists and Writers series at Almond restaurant in Bridgehampton will return on Monday at 7 p.m. with Perry Burns, a painter who lives and works in East Hampton. A three-course family-style meal will be served with one glass of wine or draft beer for $59, including gratuity.

Mr. Burns’s paintings merge the traditions of Middle Eastern patterns and European tapestries with abstract expressionism. His focus is on color, shape, line, mark, texture, and pattern. “I do not want to reproduce the visible,” he has said. “I want to create an experience of perception.”

Reservations are required via the website or by calling the restaurant at 631-537-5665.

Art of Eating Food Truck

Art of Eating’s food truck will pop up at 264 Butter Lane in Bridgehampton Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Menu items, subject to change, will include chile rellenos, with two cheeses, Balsam Farm corn, and roasted vegetable salsa; three sopes, with black beans, chorizo, queso fresco, lettuces, avocado, and sweet pepper salsa; fritto misto, including rock shrimp, calamari, zucchini and zucchini flowers, garlic chive flowers, lemon, and sauce, and Thai chicken lettuce cups, featuring pulled organic chicken, Asian herbs, napa cabbage, garlic chips, and Turkish peppers.

Goodbye, Cookery

The Cookery in East Hampton has closed its store because it lost its lease. However, orders can be placed on its website, thecookerycynandtrudy.com.
