Big Truck Day

The Children’s Museum of the East End’s Big Truck Day on Saturday is sure to be a hit with its young target audience. There will be trucks, buses, tractors, bulldozers, and all manner of big moving vehicles for little ones to gawk at and explore between 10 a.m. and noon on the museum’s Bridgehampton grounds. The day is best for families with children ages 2 to 10. Tickets cost $25, or $5 for members.

Fun at the Library

At the East Hampton Library, it will be another week filled with activities for young people of all ages, from the littlest to those in high school.

Tomorrow afternoon at 3:45 comes the monthly installment of the Universal Yums snack-tasting program for grades six to eight. Each month, the library sets out treats from a different country, offering an opportunity to try something tasty and learn about the culture of the chosen country.

Tapping into high schoolers’ nostalgia, the movie “Cars 2” will be shown on Monday at 4:30 p.m. Also for high school students, supplies will be available for making tarot cards on Wednesday starting at 3:30, and on Friday, Oct. 3, they can earn community service credits by decorating placemats at 3.

A story and craft time for children 3 to 6 inspired by Audrey Penn’s “The Kissing Hand” is planned for Wednesday at 4 p.m. Next Thursday at 4, cardboard will be the building material in a STEAM project for ages 5 to 11, and on Friday, Oct. 3, grades six through eight will face off in a Mario Kart tournament at 4.
