Getting Goosebumps

R.L. Stine, the author of the best-selling “Goosebumps” series, will be at the East Hampton Library on Monday at 3:30 p.m. to meet young fans. Mr. Stine “has more than 400 million English-language books in print, plus international editions in 32 languages, making him one of the most popular children’s authors of all time,” according to the library. Registration is through the library’s website or the children’s desk.

Raptors at the Lighthouse

Quogue Wildlife Refuge naturalists will have some of the facility’s resident birds of prey at the Montauk Lighthouse next Thursday for up-close visits at noon and 1:30 p.m. The program is free with Lighthouse admission, which is $15 for adults, $5 for children under 12, and $10 for those over 62. There is an $8 parking fee, which is free on weekdays for anyone over 62.

Rhythms of Motown

Coming Wednesday in Guild Hall’s KidFest series is a free program with the Dance Theatre of Harlem that invites audience members to be part of the fun, all “set to the soulful rhythms of Motown and beyond,” according to the museum. The show begins at 4:30 p.m. Although tickets are free, reservations are required through the museum’s website.

Afterward BuddhaBerry on Wheels will be outside selling frozen treats. The next KidFest program is set for Aug. 6, when the Little Mermen, a Disney tribute band, will perform.

CMEE’s Family Fair

The Children’s Museum of the East End’s annual family fair happens on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Bridgehampton. The action-packed morning — which doubles as a fund-raiser for the museum’s food pantry, camp scholarships, and outreach initiatives — will include arts and crafts, water play, food trucks, live entertainment, and a chance to check out the museum’s new playground. There will be food and drink from Hampton Coffee, Taco Island, Eddie’s Pizza, the Clam Bar, and Baked by Melissa.

Tickets start at $125 on the museum’s website.

Yacht Rock Revue

It’s been over a decade since the Ross School hosted a public campus event, and when it does so on July 26, it will be with Blythe Woods, a student and rising singer-songwriter, opening an evening of “yacht rock” hits from the 1970s and ‘80s. After that, the school promises “a very special guest playing sold-out venues across the country.”

Gates open at 4 p.m., Blythe will take the stage at 5, and the main concert will begin at 5:30. There will be food trucks, local restaurant pop-ups, and a beer garden. General admission is $125, or $25 for kids 12 and under. Those who opt for the $1,250 V.I.P. tickets get access to a catered reception with an open bar, sushi bar, and raw bar.

Proceeds will benefit the Raven Fund, which supports students and faculty through “innovative programming, tuition assistance, and strategic initiatives.”

Tickets can be bought at ross.org.
