On May 9, Springs School junior high students flooded into their gymnasium in beautiful gowns and fancy wear as beams of light fluttered along the walls and banners and streamers adorned the room for the Masquerade Ball.

Middle schoolers were greeted with food and drinks from Luigi’s, as well as a variety of sweets and snacks, and a high point of the evening was the D.J., who played upbeat music. Masks were provided by the PTA.

This middle school dance was organized by Owen McCormack and the student council, who put in their time and best efforts to deliver a magical event. Money was raised from ice cream sales, pizza sales, and a bake sale earlier in the year. By the end of the night, kids had big smiles on their faces.

“I thought the dance was very fun. The decorations were amazing and the music in particular was incredible,” said Callie Grimes, a sixth grader. “I had a lot of fun with my friends over all, thanks to Mr. McCormack and the student council.” Others, such as the sixth grader Natalia O’Brien, agreed, saying she loved the beautiful decorations, the food, and spending her time with friends.
