And Now, the Teeny Award Nominees Are. . .

East Hampton, Bridgehampton, and Pierson High School were all well represented among the nominees for 2021's Teeny Awards, given by East End Arts to high schoolers who have distinguished themselves in the performing arts. The awards ceremony, on July 11, will be held at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center and streamed on Facebook. Nominees will be there in person, not only for the celebrations, but also for live performances.

Among 18 participating schools, Pierson students in "Ten Ways to Survive Life in a Quarantine" and "Take 10" were nominated, as were many in "Pandemic Pandemonium of 2021" at East Hampton. From that same show, the casts of "Anything Goes & Encoreā" and "I Sing the Body Electricā" were nominated for best group performance in a musical revue.

Jaeda Gant was nominated from the Bridgehampton School for best musical performance in a video, performing "Part of Your World." Silas Jones of East Hampton High was nominated for outstanding performer in a play, musical/mini-musical, or musical revue.

Also from East Hampton, Sarah Baylinson, Nicholas Cooper, and Max Eberle were nominated for best duet/trio performance in a musical revue, and John-Henry Kernell for best master of ceremonies/host/narrator. From Pierson, Emily Brownstein and Gaylin Davey were nominated for best duet/trio performance.

Silas Jones and Anika Petruccelli, dance captains, were recognized among East Hampton's nominees. Lighting design assistants and crew nominees included Dante Sasso of East Hampton and both Everett McMahon and Chad Federico of Pierson; Chad was also nominated for sound design.

An East Hampton stage manager, Julianna Lester, and two Pierson stage managers, Beckham LaRose and Lukas Monteiro, were also up for the vote.

Other East Hampton nominees were Keshi Mayer, Emma Stein, and Oceanna Zeledon for stage crew and Andrew Merkert and Nicole Seitz for student writers. Ava Arceleo (cello), Charles Ban-Williams and Lucy Beeton (violin), and Adea Kastrati (viola) were nominated as musicians.

At Pierson, Zoe Richardson was nominated for lead female in a musical/mini-musical, best solo performance in a musical revue, and best supporting female in a musical/mini-musical ("Take Ten"). Angela Gardella, Gaylin Davey, and Emily Brownstein were nominated for the supporting female award as well, and Thomas Schiavoni Jr. was nominated for outstanding poster design for "10 Ways to Survive."
