Angel Blue, a soprano at the Metropolitan Opera who debuted there as Mimi in “La Boheme,” will perform a recital at Guild Hall Friday at 8 p.m. Blue has appeared in major Met productions, including “Porgy and Bess,” “Fire Shut Up in My Bones,” and “La Traviata,” and she recently starred in the title role of Verdi’s “Aida” in the company’s first new production of the work in decades.
The program continues the Met’s tradition of recital appearances, which afford audiences a change to hear its performers in a more personal setting. Blue will be accompanied on piano by Bryan Wagorn.
Tickets range from $92 to $178.
With a five-decade career that includes 10 Broadway roles and multiple Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards, Tovah Feldshuh is no stranger to theater audiences.
“Tovah,” a film by David Serero that captures her intelligence and artistry, will be shown at Guild Hall next Thursday at 7 p.m. Through exclusive interviews, rare archival footage, and behind-the-scenes access, the film follows Feldshuh’s career from a young actress to a Broadway institution, whose success has extended to motion pictures and television.
Those interviewed include Dustin Hoffman, with whom she starred in the recently released film “Tuner,” Oscar Isaac, Patti LuPone, Stephen Schwartz, Katie Couric, Joy Behar, Kristen Bell, Peter Gallagher, and many others.
After the screening, Feldshuh will engage in a live conversation with Zibby Owens, an author and publisher. Tickets are $40.
Guild Hall’s 2026 summer benefit, set for Friday, Aug. 7, will honor Andrea Grover, who is celebrating her 10th anniversary as its executive director. “Through her visionary leadership, Guild Hall has expanded its role as a dynamic cultural institution, championing ambitious artistic programming while guiding the transformation of our campus into a state-of-the-art home for creativity,” according to Guild Hall.
Guests will be able to preview the venue’s two upcoming exhibitions, “Ross Bleckner: Never the Less” and “Eric Freeman: The Volume of Color.”
Cocktails and the exhibition preview will take place from 6 to 7 p.m., and an after-party will happen at 9:30. Dinner tickets are sold out, but cocktail tickets are $515 and the after-party costs $257.50.
