Artist Talk at LongHouse

Tue, 07/22/2025 - 15:17
Ella Mahoney, an Indigenous artist, illustrator, and educator, will talk about her work at LongHouse.

LongHouse Reserve’s InsiderOutsider conversation series, which focuses on underrepresented artists who challenge convention, will feature Ella Mahoney, a visual artist, illustrator, educator, and member of the Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head (Aquinnah), Mass., on Sunday at 3 p.m.

Ms. Mahoney will talk with Mago, the series’ moderator, about her work in oil, acrylic, and silk painting, and her more recent focus on large-scale silk installations that evoke the movement, memory, and atmosphere of Northeast coastal environments. She often draws from Wampanoag creation stories and her connection to land and water.
