Jazz Happenings    
The Hamptons Jazz Festival, which is being held at venues from Southampton to Montauk, brings "Jazz on the Steps" with the Iris Ornig Trio to the Southampton Arts Center on Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m. The John Ludlow and Dennis Raffelock Duo will play at Baron's Cove in Sag Harbor on Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. Also in Sag Harbor, the John Hart Quartet, with a "very special guest," will perform next Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at The Church at 48 Madison Street. 

The Talkhouse Stage    
The National Reserve take the stage at the Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett Thursday at 8 p.m., followed by Rubix Kube at 10:30. Friday at 7 p.m., it's Ida Mae, and then LHT at 10. Melt performs on Saturday at 7:30 p.m., with Hello Brooklyn taking over at 10:30. On Sunday, it'll be Nicole Atkins at 7 p.m., with Hot Lava at 10:30. Joe Horowitz performs on Tuesday at 8 p.m., ahead of a show by Black Tie Brass at 10. The Montauk Project is in store for Wednesday at 8 p.m. 
     
Ticketing information is on the venue's website, and patrons must show proof of Covid-19 vaccination. 

Mostly Montauk   
Jettykoon plays tonight and every Thursday from 6 to 9, weather permitting, at the Montauket in Montauk. 
    
The Lynn Blue Band performs at 6:30 tonight at Salivar's in Montauk and then at 5 p.m. tomorrow at Wolffer Estate in Sagaponack. 
    
Kate Usher and the Sturdy Souls are at the Surf Lodge in Montauk on Mondays from 6 to 8 p.m. On Wednesdays it's Nancy Atlas from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. 

Hopefully Forgiven
The Greenport Brewery in Peconic will feature Hopefully Forgiven on Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. Weather permitting, the band can also be seen every Sunday from 4 p.m. to sunset at Salt on Shelter Island.

The Sweet Smell of Nostalgia at Sagaponack General

Stepping into the new Sagaponack General Store, which reopened yesterday after being closed since 2020, is a sweet experience, and not just because there’s a soft-serve ice cream station on the left and what promises to be the biggest penny candy selection on the South Fork on your right, but because it’s like seeing an old friend who, after some struggle, made it big. Really, really big.
