Drive-In for Pantries

Summer movie classics meet social distancing with "Showtime in Southampton," All for the East End's schedule of films to be shown drive-in style at the Elks Lodge grounds on County Road 39. The proceeds will go to the group's Feed the Need campaign to benefit food pantries and other East End organizations affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The program will take place over three weekends, beginning Friday, July 17, with "Men in Black," followed by "Dirty Dancing" on July 18. On July 24, "Raiders of the Lost Ark" will be shown, and on the next night "Rocky." The final weekend of July 31 will bring "Transformers" and "Jurassic Park."

Vehicles will be parked in spots with enough room for chairs and tailgating outside the car while still maintaining social distancing. The screening will feature sharp LED projection and sound from speakers as well as radio transmission. There will be food trucks and portable restrooms available.

Each screening will have a small selection of tickets priced at $25 per car. Parking spots closer to the screen will increase in price and include a donation to AFTEE. Reservations can be made on the AFTEE website.
