Update: Springs Meeting Canceled
Update, July 22: The Springs facilities committee meeting originally scheduled for Wednesday evening at 5 p.m. has been postponed to a later date that has not yet been announced.
Originally: Sag Harbor will hold a public hearing Monday at 6 p.m. to discuss repairs to the Sag Harbor Elementary School boiler. What to do about the aging boiler was debated during the recent budget process, when officials questioned whether it should be repaired, which they said it has needed on a fairly frequent basis, or replaced.
The public hearing will take place in the Pierson High School library, with a school board meeting to follow. At the meeting, the board plans to discuss the district's goals for the coming school year. A second "goals" meeting will be held Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the library, with an open session to follow for personnel actions.
The Springs School District's facilities committee will have its third session, possibly its last, on Wednesday. The committee met in May and June to come up with ways to handle overcrowding in the building. Wednesday's meeting will take place at 5 p.m. at the Springs School library. It is open to the public, but there will not be an opportunity for public comment.
A Montauk School Board meeting scheduled for Tuesday has been canceled. Its next meeting is set for Aug. 11.
