Thirty-three years ago, Theo Landi’s sister-in-law Geri Sanicola said to her, “This town needs a party shop.” Mrs. Landi replied, “You find a spot and maybe we’ll do it.” The Party Shoppe has been helping to make birthday parties and holidays complete ever since.
Seth Turner, the superintendent of the Amagansett School District for the last five years, has resigned "effective immediately," the district announced Wednesday night.
The East Hampton Town Police Department has given the all-clear signal at the Amagansett School after a bomb threat was received by email just before 9 a.m. Wednesday. The school — where the day's classes were just beginning — was immediately evacuated, police said in a release.
Ahead of the Nov. 7 general election, key deadlines for voter registration and absentee balloting are coming up in the next two weeks.
Visiting hours for Frederick William Yardley, a retired Springs School history teacher and administrator, will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Yardley and Pino Funeral Home in East Hampton. A funeral will be held on Thursday morning at 11 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in East Hampton. A full obituary will appear in Thursday's paper.
