The North Fork Reform Synagogue will hold its annual self-guided tasting tour of the area’s farms, vineyards, breweries, and other food and beverage producers on Sept. 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Participating businesses include Browder’s Birds in Mattituck, Castello di Borghese Vineyard in Cutchogue, Catapano Dairy Farm in Peconic, Goodale Farms in Riverhead, and the Peconic Land Trust Agriculture Center at Charnews Farm in Southold.

Talks by Taylor Knapp, a chef and the founder of the Peconic Escargot snail farm, Monica Ray, a botanical artist, and others will be held at Charnews Farm from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The cost is $25, and free for children 12 and under. Tickets are available on the synagogue’s website, which also lists a full schedule of the day’s events.

Slices and More

The Best Pizza and Dive Bar on the Napeague stretch has started offering single slices after 10 p.m., when service for a full pizza ends. The restaurant, which will be open year-round, also has a new menu item: a fish sandwich made with porgy from Gosman’s topped with kale and calaloo slaw with greens from Balsam Farms.

Smokin’ Wolf BBQ in East Hampton will be open on Labor Day from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Artists and Writers

Almond in Bridgehampton will hold its first Artists and Writers night of the season on Sept. 11 at 7. The four-course dinner, a collaboration with the Food Lab at Stony Brook Southampton, will feature recipes inspired by Julia Child. The dinner, which includes wine pairings, will be hosted by Geoffrey Drummond, who produced TV shows with the legendary French chef, and Laura Donnelly, The Star’s food critic. The cost is $75 per person, plus tax and tip. Reservations are required and are by calling the restaurant.
