Before their final home meet on Sunday, the Y.M.C.A. East Hampton RECenter Hurricanes swim team hosted a grand send-off for its four seniors: Lizzie Daniels, Liam Knight, Lylah Metz, and Daisy Pitches.

The seniors shared messages of thanks to their coaches and families, along with words of advice for their younger teammates. “Keep working hard. Enjoy every moment. It goes by faster than you think.”

Miles Menu, a junior, made a video tribute to the foursome before they all jumped into the pool for a symbolic last lap.

“Every year it’s hard to say goodbye to these wonderful kids. Some of them have been on the team since they were 8 and under — 11-plus years for some of them — and I’ve seen them grow,” said Thomas Cohill, their head coach. “I’ve seen them do really, really amazing things. I’ve also seen them when they haven’t been at their best. And I just try to do the absolute best I can to support them in this journey. Between Daisy, Liam, Lizzie, and Lylah, they’re just such amazing young people. I couldn’t be more proud.”
