Police Say Driver Fled With Drugs in Car

Thu, 01/23/2025 - 02:13

Southampton Town police charged a Bay Shore woman with two felonies last Thursday, saying, first, that she’d left the scene of an accident on Sagg Main Street in Sagaponack, and second, after being located, was discovered to be in possession of “a “quantity of illegal drugs and paraphernalia.”

The driver was identified as Corinne Maldonado, 36. A computer check with the Department of Motor Vehicles turned up the information that her license was suspended, according to the report, and at that point she was placed under arrest. A search of her vehicle allegedly turned up the drugs.

Ms. Maldonado was charged with second and third-degree felony possession of a controlled substance, along with two misdemeanors for unlicensed operation and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was held for the rest of the day and overnight for a morning arraignment in Southampton Justice Court.
