Amagansett

While on patrol on July 7 around 3:10 a.m., police noticed two men kicking at the door to Astro’s Pizza on Main Street. An officer did a U-turn and discovered that the men had argued with employees about the name on an order, before they were escorted to the door and then became physical. No charges were filed. 

East Hampton

Stephen Palmese found that his house on Hartley Boulevard had been hit with eggs sometime on the night of June 30, when he heard loud noises. He didn’t notice the damage until nearly 3 p.m. the next day, when he contacted police.

East Hampton Village

Police found graffiti on the men’s bathroom in the Reutershan parking lot on July 10 around 5:30 p.m. 

Montauk

A pair from Manhattan reported that they had a run-in with a woman at the Surf Lodge on Edgemere Street on July 7 a little after 11 p.m. Rachel Barrack said she was trying to use the bathroom when she was approached by a former friend who began yelling at her and shaking the door of the bathroom stall. Later, when Ms. Barrack and Lance I. Yudkin were talking outside, the woman approached them, threw her drink, and punched Mr. Yudkin in the face. Bouncers removed her. Ms. Barrack and Mr. Yudkin went to police the following afternoon. An officer attempted to contact the woman, who lives in Montauk, to no avail. 

Police were called to the Royal Atlantic Motel on South Emerson Avenue on July 4 around 10 p.m. about a fight. Brian Moore told police a family friend had kicked him in the stomach. The fight began at the Malibu Motel, where he had been slapped in the face. Mr. Moore then returned to his room at the Royal Atlantic, where, he said, he was accosted again. The man then drove off, but police pulled him over near Hither Hills. Mr. Moore ultimately declined to press charges. 

Guests at the Montauk Manor caused a disturbance on July 1 at about 12:30 a.m. The manager and a security guard said that two guests had been running through the hallways on the fourth floor and riding a luggage cart. The guests had also tampered with the exit signs. Police noted in a report that most of the signs had been put back in place before they arrived, but a few remained knocked down, though not damaged. Police advised the guests that they needed to remain quiet for the rest of the night. Police also told them that in lieu of criminal charges they would be responsible for any costs involved in repairing the signs and possibly fees for disturbing the guests, per Montauk Manor policy. 

Sag Harbor

Alexandra J. Lewis, 20, of Laguna Beach, Calif., was charged with a violation after police found two dogs inside her car, which was parked on Madison Street on Saturday afternoon. Police said the car was in direct sunlight without adequate ventilation for an extended period. She was issued a ticket to appear in court at a later date. 

Springs

Kenneth Anderson reported on July 11 that his son’s bicycle had been stolen. His son had ridden it home the day before around 2 p.m. and left it on the east side of the house, as he normally does. It was gone by 6:30 p.m. the next day. The 2017 red, white, and blue mountain bike cost about $200 new. 

A pool pump was taken from a Folkstone Drive property on June 27 or June 28. Helen Duffy said her husband went to check on it around 3:15 p.m. and realized it was missing. The 1.5-horsepower Hayward Super Pump was worth about $500.
