Amagansett

Jonda Stillwell and Kim Webb, caretakers of a Barnes Hole Road residence, told police last Thursday that sometime after May 12 a glass sliding door had been shattered by a rock. The house did not appear to have been entered, and nothing was reported stolen.

East Hampton Village

A Lee Avenue woman whose neighbor was having a fence installed called police on May 17 to say that scrape marks on her gravel driveway indicated that the contractor had used her property to remove debris from a tree. She wanted the incident documented.

Police went to a Meadow Way house a little before midnight on May 18 in answer to a noise complaint and issued a summons to one of five teenagers they found there. The report notes that “defendant’s parents were not” at home.

Sag Harbor

Alan Furst called police to his Hampton Street house on May 13, telling them that his passport, which had been in a drawer in his den, was missing. A maid was the only person who had access to the room, he said. On Monday, he reported that a hand-painted china cup was also gone. Detectives are investigating.

Police visited a house on Hillside Drive East last Thursday afternoon, where a sharp instrument had sliced through a screen door. Erin Kubber reported nothing missing, and officers found no sign of entry.

Mary Montes called police to her Town Line Road house early Friday morning, concerned that someone was in the backyard. Police found that an animal, probably a raccoon, had toppled over a garbage can and gotten inside.

A woman driving on Jermain Avenue phoned police Friday afternoon after her rear window was shattered by what appeared to be a pellet from a BB gun. Judi Desiderio told police that the shot might have been fired from a second-story window on a nearby residence.

A Globe longboard left by the bicycle rack in front of the Sag Harbor Gym on Bay Street Friday evening was reported stolen. Vaney Valentina told police she had left the custom skateboard there while she worked out. The missing board is white with orange wheels and a design of palm trees. Police have been checking nearby establishments in hopes of finding a surveillance video.

A woman shopping at Around Again on Sunday afternoon took a Jude Connally dress into the fitting room. There, Marjorie Scanlon, the proprietor of the vintage clothing store, told police, she removed its $125 price tag and replaced it with one reading $49.95. The clerk who rang up the sale was unaware of the switch. Police are investigating.

Springs

A vehicle ran over a white mailbox outside a Gardiner Avenue house last Thursday evening. Judy Mullarkey told police she had heard a loud bang, but by the time she got outside the vehicle was gone.

Wainscott

Police visited Main Beach Surf and Sport earlier this month to investigate a complaint from the manager, Rick Drew, who reported that a customer had come in in early April to buy a Werner-Trance paddleboard, a stand-up paddle, and a first-aid kit. The man said he was going to Montauk, and would like to pay cash for the items on his way back. He left his credit card information as collateral. When he did not return, Mr. Drew ran the card, but it was declined. Mr. Drew made several calls to the man, whose name was withheld by police. Eventually, the board was returned, but not the paddle or the first-aid kit. Mr. Drew said he would press charges if the store is not paid.

Alleged Dealers at Large

According to a report released this week, two men arrested in Amagansett in mid-June and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, are still at large, awaiting future court appearances.
