Earlier this month, Bay Street Theater and the Sag Harbor Center for the Arts installed a Little Free Food Pantry in the theater's courtyard. It's like the Little Free Libraries that have popped up all over the country.

The pantry provides food, personal care items, and paper products to anyone who needs them, with no questions asked and no prerequisites to access. Anyone can make contributions to the pantry directly into the box 24/7, and those in need can access the box at all hours as well.

The free pantry was set up in collaboration with Kate Mueth and the Neo-Political Cowgirls with construction help donated by Men at Work Construction. "As a community center, we are always ready to partner with others in order to help those in need," Tracy Mitchell, Bay Street's executive director, said. The donations will be coordinated with the Sag Harbor Food Pantry as needed.
