Schools Holding State-Mandated Q&A Sessions for Parents

On Monday at 6 p.m., the East Hampton School District will hold an online question-and-answer session for parents of high school students.

As directed by Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo on Aug. 7, local school districts are holding information sessions to give parents and guardians a chance to ask questions about their reopening plans..

On Monday at 6 p.m., the East Hampton School District will hold a high school session online. On Wednesday, there will be sessions for John M. Marshall Elementary School families at 9 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Links to these sessions are included in the event calendar listings at easthamptonschools.org. Middle school meetings will be Tuesday, Aug. 25, at 9 a.m. and Thursday, Aug. 27, at 7 p.m.

The Bridgehampton School's sessions will be on Monday and Wednesday, both at 6 p.m. On Thursday at 8 a.m. the session will be in Spanish. Links are online at bridgehamptonschool.org.

The Sag Harbor School District's sessions are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, each at 6:30 p.m. More information is at sagharborschools.org.

The Amagansett School will hold a parent session online on Tuesday at 5 p.m. and is also dividing reopening question sessions on Thursday by grade level. It will be at 9 a.m. for families of kindergarten, first, and second grade students; 11 a.m. for grades three through six, and 1:30 p.m. for parents of children in both levels of prekindergarten, 3 years and 4 years of age. The Springs School is hosting a session online on Monday at 7 p.m. in conjunction with a board of education meeting, and also "coffee hours" with the superintendent outside the Springs Youth Association building. The kindergarten parent sessions are Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. for Cohort A students and at 11:30 a.m. for Cohort B students. For grades one through five, there will be office hours on Wednesday, and for grades six through eight office hours will be on Thursday. The same time frames apply for Cohort A and B, respectively. There will be a Wainscott School parent session and school board meeting online on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. Information is at wainscottschool.org.

For Sagaponack, the times are 6 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday at 12:30 p.m., and Thursday at 10 a.m. Each session will be an hour long, and links are online in a letter posted at sagaponackschool.com.

Montauk School officials expect to announce more details on Tuesday, but have planned virtual meetings for Wednesday at 10 a.m. and 4 and 7 p.m. The school website is montaukschool.org.
