Self-Defense for Girls

Epic Martial Arts will hold free self-defense classes for girls 8 to 12 and 13 to 18 on Monday and Oct. 23 and Nov. 6 at its Sag Harbor studio. The classes for older girls promise to help them “define your personal space,” “strengthen your reflexes,” and “become a better ally,” while those for younger girls aim to help them “be more aware,” “get faster reflexes,” and “be stronger.”

The three-part class for younger girls will run from 4:30 to 5:15; the class for older girls follows from 5:30 to 6:30. They are offered in partnership with Organizacion Latino-Americana of Eastern Long Island and Youth Connect. Registration is at bit.ly/45ofB0X or by calling OLA at 631-899-3441.
