“Grounded Conversation: What Remains,” set for Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4:30 at LongHouse Reserve in East Hampton, will focus on green burials, human composting, eco-cremations, and how to sustainably prepare for death.
The panel members are Joseph Charap and Gabrielle R. Gatto of Brooklyn’s Green-Wood Cemetery; Darren Crouch, president of the Green Burial Council; Amy Cunningham, a death educator and funeral director; Faith Popcorn, a futurist, and Edwina von Gal of the Perfect Earth Project.
Attendees can meet death doulas, representatives from Green-Wood Cemetery, Aeon Woods Conservation Cemetery, and Departure Lounge and Passages International, both of which make sustainable caskets and urns. A shrouding demonstration and body blessing will also take place.
Tickets are $50, $45 for members.
