East Hampton High School’s homecoming festivities begin Friday when the girls varsity volleyball and soccer teams play at home against Kings Park and the school hosts its homecoming dance. They continue Saturday with the main events: a festival and football game.
Friday’s games both start at 4:30 at the high school.
The festival on Saturday will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the grass by the football field. Fifteen to 20 vendors are signed up to participate, including The East Hampton Star, which will be selling hats and offering papers and free swag. There will also be food trucks and a bounce castle. For those who want to make even more of a day of it, the boys J.V. soccer team will play Rocky Paint on the high school’s grass field at 10 a.m.
Kickoff for the Bonackers’ football game against West Babylon is at 1 p.m. This year’s theme is U.S.A. The football team is asking fans to wear red, white, and blue.
Ahead of homecoming weekend, field hockey will face Mattituck/Greenport/Southold Thursday afternoon at 4 on the Stephen Hand’s Path field and the girls swim team meets Deer Park/North Babylon Thursday at 5:30 at the Y.M.C.A. East Hampton RECenter.
On the high school’s turf field the Battle of the Bonackers Friday afternoon at 4 will pit East Hampton staff members against each other for a Kick Out Cancer fund-raising game hosted by the girls soccer program. Food and drinks will be available for purchase and younger players will scrimmage at halftime. All money raised will be donated to the Kyra Fund, which supports research and clinical trials for glioblastoma.
