The Hamptons Marathon and Half-Marathon will bring scores of people to Southampton Village on Saturday for races that begin near Agawam Park. Both races, and a 5K connected to them, will take place south of the highway, avoiding the most heavily traveled roads. Those running the marathon and half-marathon will follow a route that first heads west along Meadow Lane toward the Shinnecock Inlet. The full marathon will also include points east of the village, to Fowler’s Beach in Water Mill.
Wheelchair and handcycle participants will set out at 7:25 a.m. in the marathon and half and at 7:40 in the 5K. Runners will follow shortly after. While there is free parking available within walking distance of the start/finish line, there will also be a shuttle running from the parking lot at the Southampton Intermediate School from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
For those planning to watch or take part, detailed race maps can be found at hamptonsmarathon.com.
