307 Finishers in Mighty Hamptons Triathlon

The Steve Tarpinian Memorial Mighty Hamptons Triathlon at Long Beach in Noyac Sunday was won by Roman Fedosieiev, 29, of Staten Island, in 1 hour and 59.27 minutes. Jason Quinn, 23, of Washington, D.C., was close behind, in 1:59:47.     

The women's winner was Cheryl Regan, 43, of Quogue, who was 14th over all in 2:17:07.     

It was an Olympic-distance course, with a .93-mile bay swim, a 24.8-mile bike leg, and a 6.2-mile run. There were 307 finishers.   

 A 58-year-old, William Kelly of Chatham, N.J., placed seventh, in 2:09:48. Doug Milano, 37, an East Hampton Middle School math teacher who lives in Aquebogue, placed 17th in 2:18:54.     

Locals in the top 100 included Neil Falkenhan, 37, of East Hampton, 44th in 2:27:25; Nichola Ellenhoff, 27, of Sagaponack, 54th in 2:29:39; Emi Berger, 44, formerly of East Hampton, now of Denver, 68th in 2:33:16; Robert Magnotta, 55, of Amagansett, 74th in 2:36:00; Shawn Eckhardt, 40, of East Hampton, 88th in 2:40:14, and Ryan Struble, 39, of East Hampton, 92nd in 2:41:48.
