An East Hampton man with two convictions for driving while intoxicated on his record was arrested again last week, charged this time with a felony.
Town police say they spotted Ray Anthony Freeman, 35, driving a Mercedes at 3:30 a.m. on Aug. 10 along Second House Road in Montauk, having trouble maintaining his speed and staying in his lane. He was pulled over and performed poorly on roadside sobriety tests, according to their report.
Because of his rap sheet, with two drunken-driving convictions before 2024, the charge is at the felony level.
Justice Steven Tekulsky released Mr. Freeman on his own recognizance later that day, with a future date in East Hampton Town Justice Court.
