Allege Felony Sexual Abuse

On March 24 East Hampton Town police accused a local man of sexual abuse.

Jose Miguel Humala Chabla of Springs, 32, was charged with two felony counts in the first degree. Police said he was charged following an investigation into a domestic incident involving a 27-year-old woman. The charges are the most serious possible under the pertinent law;.

Justice David Filer ordered the man held at $250,000 bail the following day.

The accused, who was additionally charged with harassment, a violation, could face up to seven years in prison on each of the felony charges.
