A Sag Harbor man was injured Friday evening after his Mazda sedan collided with a tree in Wainscott.

Agostino Petrosino, 60, told East Hampton Town police that he was approaching a curve on Wainscott Northwest Road when an oncoming vehicle crossed the double yellow lines into his lane. He swerved onto the grass to avoid a collision, he said, but lost control of the car, which struck the tree.

Mr. Petrosino was transported by ambulance to Stony Brook’s new emergency building in East Hampton after complaining of chest pain. His car was towed by Hampton Transportation to Fireplace Auto Collision.
