The death of a woman inside a Gurney’s Resort hotel room on July 5 is not considered suspicious, East Hampton Town police said this week.

The Montauk Fire Department’s ambulance was called to Gurney’s on Old Montauk Highway for an unresponsive person at 6:22 that morning. She was transported to Southampton Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Capt. Chris Anderson said the investigation was ongoing and that he could not provide a cause of death. He would not confirm the woman’s age or name.
