The new Covid-19 boosters, which add protection against the Omicron variant, will be available by appointment only at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital on Monday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at Parrish Memorial Hall.

According to a press release, "Covid-19 vaccination provides protection against serious illness and outcomes associate with COVID-19, including emergency department or urgent care visits, hospitalizations, and death."

To be eligible to receive the booster, individuals must be age 12 or older, at least two months out from completing primary vaccination, or at least two months out from receiving the most recent booster. Also eligible are those over 12 and over who have been vaccinated and who are three months past a Covid infection.

Appointments can be scheduled online at Southampton.stonybrookmedicine.edu, or at a local pharmacy.
