Parking Passes for East Hampton High School Students

Only East Hampton High School students who have parking permits may drive to school.

East Hampton High School students seeking permission to drive to school can go to the main office on Monday and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. to sign up for a parking permit.

"Please be reminded that only students who who register for a parking pass are permitted to drive to school," Sara Smith, the principal, said in an announcement on the district website.

Students should take their driver's license, insurance and registration documents, and a completed parking permit application, which students and parents should have received in the mail.

Questions can be directed to the main office at 631-329-4130.

Eclipse Fever Gripped the South Fork, Too

During the solar eclipse on Monday, when approximately 89 percent of the sun was blocked out by the moon here, it was both a communal and a solitary experience for those taking it in at a watch party at the South Fork Natural History Museum in Bridgehampton. The field behind the museum was dotted with 100-plus voyeurs, in small groupings on lawn chairs and blankets, staring with solar-safe spectacles, taking in every second of the hot action.
