Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in East Hampton will celebrate a Palm Sunday Mass at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. and at 7 p.m. in Spanish. Masses will be said at 8 a.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Next Thursday there will be a Mass of the Lord's Supper in English and Spanish at 7 p.m. Good Friday will begin with prayer at 9 a.m., Stations of the Cross in the church cemetery on Cedar Street at noon, and Celebrations of the Lord's Passion at 3 p.m. and in Spanish at 8.

On April 16, there will be an Easter vigil at 7 p.m. and at 9 in Spanish. On Easter Sunday Masses will be said at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. and at 7 p.m. in Spanish.

A Palm Sunday service at the East Hampton Presbyterian Church will take place at 10 a.m. with the music of the Handbell Choir, the Chancel Choir, and two clarinet players, David Cummings and Marian Lindberg. The Good Friday service will be at 7 p.m., and an Easter sunrise service will be at Main Beach at 6 on April 17.

St. Luke's Episcopal Church's Holy Week schedule here begins with the Holy Eucharist on Monday and Wednesday at 10 a.m. and prayer on Tuesday and next Thursday at 10 a.m. The Holy Eucharist will be offered next Thursday at 7 p.m., followed by an overnight prayer vigil until 8 the following morning. Good Friday observances will continue at noon with a Service of the Lord's Passion, then private meditation until a Stations of the Cross at 3 p.m.

The Montauk Community Church's Palm Sunday Communion service will be held at 10 a.m. Maundy Thursday Communion service will be at 7 p.m. and Good Friday Tenebrae service will be at 7 p.m.

Also in Montauk, St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church will have an 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Mass on Palm Sunday. Confessions will be held Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and on Saturday at 3:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. or by appointment. Stations of the Cross will be held every Friday during Lent at 6 p.m. On Reconciliation Monday there will be confession from 2 to 4 p.m. in English, and from 6 to 9 p.m. in Spanish and English. On Good Friday there will be a walking Stations of the Cross at 10 a.m., beginning at the church. 

Ahead of Palm Sunday, a Vigil Mass will be said on Saturday at 5 p.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Amagansett. A Palm Sunday Latin Mass will be said at 2 p.m. Confessions will be heard on Monday from 4 to 5:30 p.m. 

The Amagansett Presbyterian Church's Holy Week and Easter celebrations start next week with a Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m. An Easter sunrise service will be held at Atlantic Avenue Beach at 6 on April 17, followed by a celebration of the Resurrection at 10:30 at the sanctuary. An Easter egg hunt for children will follow at 11:30 on the manse lawn. 

On Sunday in Sag Harbor, the Old Whalers Church's Palm Sunday service at 10 a.m. will be called "Love Rode Into Town."

This week's Palm Sunday service at the Springs Presbyterian Church will start at 9 a.m., with young people taking part. Easter Sunday a week later will bring a 6 a.m. service at the end of Gerard Drive, followed by one at 9 back at the church.

Architect’s Descendants Visit East Hampton Gem

Michele L’Hommedieu Hofmann had no idea until retiring last fall and starting to research her family history how prominent a role her great-great-grandfather James H. L’Hommedieu had played in Long Island’s late-19th-century architecture. On a trip to New York that included a stop at an East Hampton house he designed for Robert Southgate Bowne, a founder of the Maidstone Club and first president of the Long Island Rail Road, she and her family got a crash course in L’Hommedieu’s work.
