People who are having trouble paying for food for their dogs or cats can go to Petco on Saturday, Feb. 19, from noon to 3 p.m. to receive pet food for free from the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons.

ARF's "pet food pantry" events are held the third Saturday of each month at Petco, 2044 Montauk Highway in the Bridgehampton Commons, while its facility in Wainscott is under construction.

ARF is also seeking donations of unopened bags of cat and dog food, both wet and dry, and treats. Cat food is particularly needed, ARF said in an announcement. Donations can be dropped off during the same time period at the same place.

More information on adoptable pets and related services can be found online at arfhamptons.org.
