Driver’s License Panel Thursday

The hows and whys of New York’s new driver’s licenses for all program will be explained at a panel discussion this evening at 6 at the East Hampton Library.

Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele Jr. will take part with Sandra Dunn and Andrew Strong of the OLA of Eastern Long Island advocacy group. Tim Garneau, a new East Hampton Town trustee and member of the East Hampton Town Anti-Bias Task Force, will moderate. The Anti-Bias Task Force is a co-sponsor.

The new law allows state residents, regardless of immigration status, to apply for licenses. It went into effect in December.

Montauk’s 64th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, happening at noon on March 29, is free to all. Two popular pre-parade events are likely to sell out, however, so those interested have been advised to secure tickets.
