Want to get outside? Here are some upcoming activities that promise to satisfy your thirst for the outdoors.

On Saturday, the East Hampton Trails Preservation Society invites hikers to explore the numerous trails of Amagansett’s hilly and shaded Stony Hill area, featuring glacial kettles and a mature beech forest. Those interested are to meet on Red Dirt Road (1/4 mile east of Accabonac Road) at 9 a.m. More information is available by calling 212-769-4311.

Looking ahead to Sunday, June 27, those seeking relaxation and mindfulness will enjoy morning meditation at Quail Hill Farm. Surrounded by 35 acres of beauty, participants will practice seated and walking meditation. Taking a cushion or blanket is recommended to help make meditation more comfortable. The hour-long session will begin at 9 a.m. The group leader, Peter Corbett, can be contacted at [email protected] with any questions.

On Saturday, July 3, the South Fork Natural History Museum will be hosting a dragonfly/damselfly walk for adults and children 8 and up. The walk will be led by Annette DeGiovine Oliveira, who has been surveying dragonflies and damselflies since 2005. The walk will take place to a local pond, where Annette will cover the odonate life cycle, identification, and habitat. Additionally, instruction will be provided on observation skills and the proper technique when netting, studying, and releasing these insects. Wear clothing and footwear that can get wet. Advance registration is required for this event by calling 631-537-9735.

Registration is now open for the 13th annual Montauk Swim Challenge. This year, the event will be held virtually. Participants will seek sponsors, commit to swimming a distance of their choice — 1/2 mile, 1 mile, or 5K — and log their results on the Elite Feats athletic event platform. Swimmers will choose their own safe location to complete their challenge. Proceeds from the Montauk Ocean Swim Challenge will benefit the construction of the future aquatic and cultural arts centers at the Montauk Playhouse Community Center. There is a sign-up fee of $40, and registration can be done online at events.elitefeats.com/montaukswim21.
