A campaign launch and fund-raiser for the campaign of Manny Vilar, the Republican Party candidate for Suffolk County legislator in the Second District, happens next Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the American Legion Hall in Hampton Bays.

Admission is $125, or $100 for members of the Suffolk County Republican Committee, first responders, members of the military, and veterans. Sponsorships are also available. R.S.V.P.s by email to [email protected] have been requested.

Mr. Vilar, who lives in Springs, is chairman of the East Hampton Town Republican Committee. He is running to succeed Bridget Fleming, a Democrat who is not seeking re-election. His Democratic opponent is Ann Welker of the Southampton Town Trustees.
