Hampton Racquet and Project Most will serve up a kick-off benefit for the brand-new John T. Graham Scholarship Fund on Sunday.
The scholarship was established in Mr. Graham’s honor to help inspire young people to improve their skills on the tennis court and open up life opportunities. Mr. Graham, the executive director of Hampton Racquet for many years and a supporter of Project Most and other children’s causes, died in 2024.
“This wonderful scholarship fund in John’s honor will make it possible for children to grow, learn, and explore new academic, new creative artistic, and new athletic opportunities through our programs for kids from 3 to 12 years old,” Loretta K. Davis, Project Most’s donor and community engagement director,
said in a statement. “Exposure to these programs helps children build confidence and broaden their life experience. John wanted every child to be able to play and learn tennis, whether their families could afford it or not. He loved teaching the kids and working with them.”
The celebration will take place at Hampton Racquet, at 172 Buckskill Road in East Hampton, from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, with a book signing, tennis games such as King and Queen of the Court, a pro exhibition match, and a reception to formally announce the scholarship fund. There will be snacks and drinks to keep the energy high during this family-friendly event, which is free to attend, although donations will be accepted.
