Noa Magasiner: Siblings and School Come First
At 16, Noa Magasiner navigates life with a thoughtful, self-aware balance. The eldest sibling to two younger brothers (14 and 12), she appreciates their dynamic: enjoying the autonomy to do her "own stuff" while cherishing her role as the decision-maker when they hang out together.
Noa, a junior at Columbia Prep, thrives on activity. She's a fan of sports like basketball and tennis – playing purely for fun, not competition. Off the court, she loves unwinding with TV, especially shows like "Love Island," and adores her dog. Academics are a clear priority; she puts schoolwork first, driven by her own internal standards rather than external pressure, even though she readily admits, "I hate homework."
Currently exploring journalism at the East Hampton Star Summer Academy, Noa — whose mother is a former news reporter — is open to learning about the news process, even if she's unsure if reporting is her future calling. She deeply admires her mother's levelheadedness and wisdom, often taking her advice to heart. Noa's personal philosophy reflects her practical approach: she champions the power of taking breaks to reset and recharge, believing you can "come back stronger" — a strategy she uses to tackle everything, including that dreaded homework.
