Springs Notebook: Mom Steps Up for Club Logo

Thu, 10/12/2023 - 10:23
This original sketch by Siena Dion and Coral Borsack turned into a sleek new logo for the Springs School Journalism Club.

Two sixth-grade members of the Springs School Journalism Club, Siena Dion and Coral Borsack, recently came up with the idea to create a new logo for the club.

After thinking about a lot of possibilities, they narrowed it down to four designs. The club then voted and picked a design featuring an osprey, which is the school mascot. It also features the words “Journalism Club.”

Erica Dion, a graphic designer and this student reporter’s mother, digitized the logo for the club.

“I have been doing graphic designs for over 20 years,” Ms. Dion said. “The girls made a lot of sketches, so it really helped me to create the designs.”

The club members said they had fun coming up with the addition for Journalism Club.

The ultimate Journalism Club logo was fine-tuned by Siena's mother, Erica Dion.
