Family Art Exploration
"Family ARTivity," a collaboration between Guild Hall and the Children's Museum of the East End, runs through Sunday. This program, online or in person, encourages children to observe and discuss the works of art on display at Guild Hall. More information can be found at guildhall.org.

The Parrish Art Museum also has online art workshops on Tuesday, Wednesday, and next Thursday at 1 p.m. Each day covers a different style of painting, such as landscapes and abstract art. Program details are at parrishart.org/teen-and-adult-workshops.

See You at CMEE
Speaking of the Children's Museum of the East End, it's still open for visitors. Reservations are required in advance. Hours are 10 a.m. to noon and 2 to 4 p.m. every day except Thursdays, and the museum is closed on Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day. General admission is $19, though free for members, and includes miniature golf. Masks must be worn and other safety precautions are in effect; details are at cmee.org.

Next week, each day there will be a different online activity as a "countdown" to New Year's Eve. On Monday the theme is dance party, and on Tuesday the activity is a do-it-yourself popcorn bar. On Wednesday kids can make straw noisemakers, and next Thursday, New Year's Eve, there will be a virtual ball drop at noon. Children can also submit their New Year's resolutions, to be featured in a special collection on New Year's Day, at cmee.org/events/countdown-to-the-countdown.

Weather, Wildlife, and More
Can you predict the weather based on clues? What wildlife can you spot on a nature walk? The South Fork Natural History Museum and Nature Center will hold several events for children during their holiday break from school. The "All About Winter Weather" program is Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at SoFo, located at 377 Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike. The museum will also host a nature walk through Cupsogue Beach County Park, 906 Dune Road in Westhampton, on Sunday starting at 11 a.m. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children; free for members.

On Tuesday, SoFo will lead a full-moon nature hike through its Vineyard Field to learn about what many call the "long-night moon." The program starts at 6 p.m. and is free and open to all ages. There will be a program about SoFo's amphibian residents via Zoom on Saturday, Jan. 2, at 10:30 a.m. The museum also has regular hours from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 2:30 p.m. each day; advance reservations are required.

Noon Year's Eve
For those whose bedtime is well before midnight — and specifically, for kids ages 3 to 5 — Sag Harbor's John Jermain Memorial Library will ring in 2021 with a Noon Year's Eve celebration. At 11:30 a.m. next Thursday, there will be stories, simple crafts, and a countdown to 12 — noon, that is. A sign-up link is at johnjermain.org.
