Next up in The Met: Live in HD at Sag Harbor's Bay Street Theater is "X: The Life and Times of Malcolm X," on Saturday at 12:55 p.m. Composed by Anthony Davis, with libretto by Thulani Davis, story by Christopher Davis, and production design by Robert O'Hara, the 1986 opera is finally having its Met premiere.

The opera dramatizes Malcolm X's life, with a particular focus on his transformation and the changing popular perception of him over the years. The cast includes Will Liverman as Malcolm X, Leah Hawkins as his mother, Raehann Bryce-Davis as his sister, Michael Sumuel as his brother, and Victor Ryan Robertson as Elijah Muhammad. Kazem Abdullah conducts.

Tickets are $35.
