The Southampton Arts Center's board of directors has announced the appointment of Christina Mossaides Strassfield as its new executive director. Ms. Strassfield comes to the center from Guild Hall, where she worked for 29 years, during the last 20 as its museum director and chief curator.

She will lead all aspects of the arts center, including artistic vision and programming, development and fund-raising, and cultivating and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.

Ms. Strassfield, who lives in Southampton, is no stranger to the venue, having organized the exhibition "Figures Transformed," work by Deborah Buck, Hal Buckner, and Strong-Cuevas, which opened there in July.
