A Southampton man who had been charged with drunken driving Monday night hit a Sag Harbor Village police officer in the face while in custody, according to village police.

An intoxicated 49-year-old Springs man refused to leave Stop and Shop on April 17 at about noon. Police escorted him out of the store and his brother picked him up.
