The New York State Department of Transportation will soon repair cracks on Montauk Highway from Knoll Road in Shinnecock Hills to Tuckahoe Lane in Southampton, Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele Jr. announced Friday.
A representative of his office said there is no specific time frame yet for the repairs as the D.O.T. is still in the development phase of the project.
The work will include fixing major cracks at joint overlays in the road and cleaning and sealing minor cracks. "The project was initiated to preserve the existing pavement and extend its service life while minimizing the cost," Mr. Thiele said in the annoucement.
