Peter Gundersen, a son of Martha and Peter Gundersen of Amagansett, married Samantha Haney, a California native and daughter of Jane and Keith Haney of Gulf Breeze, Fla., on April 16 in Pensacola, Fla.
The couple met in college during their senior year at the University of California, Los Angeles, after being introduced by a mutual friend. Mr. Gundersen was a south campus biology major, while Ms. Haney was a north campus English major (meaning they were practically from different worlds). Still, over cups of coffee, study sessions at the Young Research Library, drinks at Maloney’s, surf sessions in Malibu, and walks through Westwood Village, they fell in love, their families wrote.
They honeymooned in the Maldives and now live full time in East Hampton with their dog, Abbie, an Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons rescue. Mr. Gundersen is a real estate agent for Douglas Elliman. His wife is an English teacher at the Hampton Bays Middle School.
