Felony Arrest in Montauk

Thu, 11/21/2024 - 12:05

At a West Lake Drive house in Montauk on Oct. 28, East Hampton Town police arrested a local man on a charge of violating an order of protection, a class-E felony. Paperwork in the matter, classified as a domestic incident, was released this week.

What began as an oral argument, according to the report, escalated when Wilmer Guachamin-Aguirre, 35, grabbed someone who held a protective order against him, pinned the person to the ground, and applied pressure to their chest with his knee. The victim reported bruising to the upper chest and forearms.

East Hampton Town Justice David Filer had issued the order of protection in September. Mr. Guachamin-Aguirre was held overnight for arraignment the next day, and released by Justice Steven Tekulsky on his own recognizance with a date to return to court in the future.
