A service for Carol H. Rogers of Montauk will be held on Tuesday at 5 p.m. at St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Amagansett. Ms. Rogers, who was 87, died on July 16. An obituary will appear in a future issue.

Thomas Dering and John Hulbert’s letter had to do with issuing permits of return to those who’d fled Long Island during the British occupation. The subject will also be discussed Friday night at the East Hampton Library.
This weekend Concerned Citizens of Montauk hosts the Great Montauk Cleanup, and there are trail walks at Culloden Point and Montauk Point State Park.
The LongHouse Reserve will reopen for the season on Saturday with an afternoon of family-friendly activities and tours running from 12:30 to 5.
